On the Blue Hill Peninsula, unaffordability, high demand, and construction challenges have contributed to a housing market that is not financially accessible for most households. Housing Opportunities On the Peninsula (HOOP) is a 10-town collaboration to create a toolkit for municpalities, developers, and community members to increase and diversify local housing supply to meet our needs, including homes for seniors, families, and the workforce. See the data and learn more at hoopmaine.org.
The Blue Hill Peninsula Housing Toolkit will have strategies for municipalities to encourage more diverse and affordable housing in their town, along with case study designs for cost-effective new housing construction. We want your feedback on what to prioritize and what tools and designs are the best fit for your community.

I’d like to contribute to the process if you are interesting in collaborating. Please share a phone number with z contact person so we can discuss what I’ve done, what I’ve studied in Stonington and deer isle and how I think it works to create abc enhanced community patterns here on the island that are local and are appropriate. I’ve been a summer resident in deer isle for 25 years and have taken a keen interest in this issue. I have been working weigh an affordable housing group in Stonington deer isle , and now with Jim fisher in deer isle village.
